Help & support

How can I help?

I’m the developer, and I read every message myself.

Something broken, a question, or an idea for a feature? Send it over. Ontime is a one-person app, so you’re talking straight to the person who builds it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a plan?
On the Plan tab, type where you need to be, set your finish-by time, then add your steps. Ontime shows how long it will take, the time to get started by, and, if there’s a travel step, when to be out the door. Tap Start now, or tap Remind me when to start to be nudged at the right moment.
How do I add or edit a step’s time?
Tap Add step, name it, and set the minutes. Tap the number to type an exact time, or use the plus and minus buttons. Nothing is added until you tap Add, and Cancel discards it. Mark a step “I know this time” to skip padding on it.
What does the padding do?
People with time-blindness reliably underestimate. For any step you haven’t confirmed a time for, Ontime quietly adds a realistic buffer, so your plan isn’t built on a best-case guess. Once you log real times, it uses those instead.
An alarm went off. What are my choices?
The step alarm is action-gated so you can’t reflex-swipe it away. Tap Done to move to the next step, tap Not yet, +5 min to keep going (the cost to your finish time stays visible), or tap Turn off to silence it.
How do I tell someone I’m running late?
When you’re projected to be late, a “Tell them you’re running late” button appears. Tap it and Ontime opens the share sheet with a ready message and your honest ETA. Send it through Messages, WhatsApp, or any app. Nothing is ever sent automatically.
What are check-ins, and are they optional?
Check-ins are gentle “still on task?” nudges on a timer you choose. They’re completely optional and they honour your quiet hours. Set them up during onboarding or later in Profile.
Can I make it quieter?
Yes. In Profile → Alert intensity choose Loud & clear, Gentle nudge, or Vibrate only. Vibrate-only won’t play a sound, even in the background.
Will my history sync, and survive a reinstall?
Yes, if you’re signed into iCloud. Your run history backs up to your own private iCloud, so it restores when you reinstall and syncs to your other devices on the same Apple ID. No setup needed.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open the paywall in the app and tap Restore Purchases, signed into the same Apple ID you bought with. Active subscriptions restore through Apple.
How do I cancel Ontime Pro?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancellation lives there: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Ontime → Cancel. You keep Pro until the end of the current period. Refunds go through Apple.
